Flight on Ice, an outdoor ice rink, is returning to Newtown Square, writes Max Bennet for patch.com.

The pop-up rink became a popular Delaware County winter attraction last year, voted Best of Delco 2022 Fun Day Family Outing.

It’s set to open again in mid-November and remain open through February at the Energy Transfer Veterans Memorial Rink, 4901 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square.

“Working with great partners in the community has made it possible to bring back our outdoor ice skating rink experience to Delaware County for another season,” said Jon Schaffer, President of Flight Entertainment. “We are thrilled to be back again and hope to make this a staple of the community for years to come.”

A portion of the rink’s proceeds will go to the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association. Last season, Flight On Ice raised over $55,000 for the DCVMA to support the Memorial and local Veterans in the community.

This year’s goal is $100,000 Schaffer said.

The rink will offer ice skating sessions, fire pit lounge areas, heated private event tents, nightly programming with local entertainers, theme nights and a variety of food and beverages.
