Cases of COVID-19 continue to increase rapidly across the nation and state, with some areas in Delaware County also starting to feel the effects, writes Sean Adams for the Penn Live Patriot-News.

The latest numbers compiled by the Pennsylvania Department of Health show the rates of COVID-19 infection in each ZIP code statewide for seven days ending November 25 compared to infection rates in the seven days prior.

The highest increase in Delaware County over that period were recorded in ZIP code 19094 in Woodlyn and ZIP code 19076 in Prospect Park, Ridley Park, and Norwood at 13 percent.

The number of confirmed cases in ZIP code 19094 grew from 163 to 184, while the number in ZIP code 19076 went up from 244 to 275.

In ZIP code 19013 in Chester, Boothwyn, and Upland, the number of cases increased from 1,274 to 1,385, or 9 percent, while ZIP code 19079 in Sharon Hill, Folcroft, Darby, and Collingdale saw a climb from 357 to 384 confirmed cases or 8 percent.
