Delaware County Community College’s (DCCC) Corporate College is offering two courses related to COVID-19, reports Peg DeGrassa for Delaware County’s Daily Times.

The Corporate College is located at the Marple campus.

Contact Tracing is a one hundred hour online program intended to develop COVID-19 contact tracing skills. According to the report, students will learn medical terminology and study infectious disease. Computer skills like Excel will also be studied.

Graduates of DCCC’s course may be ideal candidates for Governor Wolf’s Commonwealth Civilian Coronavirus Corps. The state is also planning on hiring contact tracers, according to the report.

COVID-19 -What You Need to Know and Do, DCCC’s other course, is designed to educate employers and management-level staff on best mitigation practices. According to the report, this two hour course is taught by a certified industrial hygienist and hazardous material manager.

Participants will learn how to develop a blueprint for handling exposure. Disinfection practices, protecting staff and patrons, and infection prevention are just some of the topics covered.
