Muncho Pizza is a business concept from Adam Chain, a Radnor High School graduate, that combines a food truck, delivery service, and a pizzeria, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The heart of the business is delivering fresh and hot pizza quickly by partially baking it in the delivery truck.

Chain rolled out his first pizza in November 2021 and a year later, launched full-time in August 2022 in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia.

“There’s too many pizza places there, so it was like, if it works there, it’s going to work everywhere else,” he said.

Six months into the hard launch offers are coming in from investors, other food delivery startups, franchises, and pizza lovers.

Chain, a former investment banker, said his customer base is growing 15 percent each month.

Philadelphia Union captain Alejandro Bedoya has invested in Muncho Pizza.

There’s been heavy interest in the startup from franchise attorneys, Gopuff, Reef Technology and Wonder Group.

“Our goal is to figure out how to grow before jumping to deep into it,” Chain said. “It’s our job right now to mess what we’re doing up, so that’s another reason why we’re not rushing.”
