Popular Johnny’s Pizza in Bryn Mawr has New Wayne Location

Johnny's Pizza, popular in Bryn Mawr for years, now has a location in Wayne.

A popular pizza and cheesesteak spot at 1025 West Lancaster Ave. in  Bryn Mawr has a new location in Wayne, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Brooklyn-trained Johnny’s Pizza owner John Bisceglie opened the second location at 369 W. Lancaster Ave. in Wayne, mostly for takeout, though there is a dining room as well, offering a variety of pizza pies, thick and thin, rectangular and round, red and white.

The white pies are a particular favorite, topped with fresh mozzarella, lemony ricotta, caramelized onions, pecorino-Romano, and parsley, all baked on a sesame seed crust.

The pizzas use hand-crushed plum tomato sauce, mozzarella, charred pepperoni, ripped basil, and Pecorino-Romano shavings on dough that has fermented for up to 48 hours.

The menu also offers buffalo chicken, BBQ chicken, and meat lover’s square pizza, as well as stromboli.

The 12-ounce, house-cut rib-eye cheesesteaks are also popular.  The 20-inch steaks have just the right amount of grease and cheese, served on a crunchy-chewy sesame-seeded roll, writes Jenn Ladd for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Bryn Mawr location has an upstairs seating area with booths, arcade games, and walls available for doodling with provided Sharpies.
