New COVID-19 Cases Trend Higher in Delaware County as State Reports More Than 3,000 Cases in a Day

Delaware County continues to trend high in the number of new cases of COVID-19, with 80 new cases reported Saturday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Chester County Health Department statistics were unavailable for Saturday or Sunday.

The state is reporting a total of 12,510 cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Saturday, Oct. 17. The Chester County Health Department reported 12,430 total cases on Friday.

State statistics do not include a municipal breakdown of COVID-19 cases.

The Chester County Health Department reported 799 COVID-19 related deaths for Delaware County as of Friday, Oct. 16.

Of those, 615 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Statewide, there were 3,126 new positive cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday.  Pennsylvania is now listing a total of 182,212.

There were 35 new deaths reported statewide as of Saturday, with total deaths listed at 8,492according to the  Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Statewide, 2,132,651 people have tested negative for the virus.
