Delaware County is bringing a local flavor to the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration with historical journeys that visit some of the places that highlight what the county was like during the birth of the nation, writes Timothy Walton for 6abc.
Places like the Brandywine Battlefield, the Lazaretto, the Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead, The Newlin Grist Mill and Chester, Pennsylvania’s first city.
Kicking off Delaware County’s semiquincentennial celebration is a “We the People Party” on Jan. 9 at the Valley Forge Military College in Wayne.
The party will provide information on what’s coming up as well as serve as a fundraiser for the year-long celebration.
The 6 to 9 PM party at the Military College, 1001 Eagle Road in Wayne, will provide a sampler of the 2026 events and programs planned for the 250th celebration.
