Educators Brew Up Coffee at House Cup Coffee Roasters in Havetown

A Delco Blend coffee is available at the House Cup Coffee Roasters in Havertown.

A group of partners with a background in education came together on Darby Road to open a coffee house, reports Bob Kelly for Kelly Drives at Fox 29.

“Most of us who are part of the partnership program here came out of education or work in education. I worked at the university level at an educational technology company for 20-some years, sold that and semi-retired to open up a coffee business,” said Brian Niles, owner of House Cup Coffee Roasters.

They bought the business in 2020, then 24 days later had to close for COVID.

“But we reopened it back up again, and the community has just embraced it,” Niles said.

Niles’ partner, Marc Dent, passed away in 2023 unexpectedly, but his legacy lives on with the Marc Dent scholarship program that funds students going to culinary school.

His favorite saying, “Let’s Keep the Good Vibes Rolling,”  is framed and displayed on the shop’s wall.

House Cup Coffee Roasters’ coffees are brewed fresh, with the Delco Blend a popular choice.

The shop also has food offerings, including a popular gluten-free breakfast empanada provided by Calaveras taco business.
