A Goldilocks Moment: Living in the Neighborhood of Haverford

The neighborhood of Haverford offers tranquility and convenience.

The neighborhood of Haverford is your sweet spot for living in the Philadelphia region.

It’s close to everything, but still far enough away to offer tranquility, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia Magazine.

This peaceful suburb is nestled in Haverford College territory and there’s a Regional Rail station nearby.

Compass realtors Leigh Anne and Frank Ambrose moved to Haverford nine years ago because of convenience.

“Many destinations are 10 minutes away, so shopping and dining are a quick drive,” Leigh Anne said.

For places to eat, try Green Engine Coffee Co. on Haverford Station Road and the White Dog Café in Haverford Square.

The Square is also where you’ll find some attractive shops, like Stupp Luxury Fashion, PHD Jewelers, and the Merritt Gallery with works by contemporary artists.

“Lancaster Avenue is the informal dividing line between the north side and the south side, and there’s a little more panache for living on the north side. But trust me, if you come out this way, the homes you see on the south side are pretty impressive,” said longtime resident and retired management consultant Harry Landsburg.
