Radiant Heart in Broomall Brings Mind and Body to Its Yoga

Stray Kitty Rescue cats joined yoga participants for some Kitty Yoga on a recent Sunday at Radiant Heart in Broomall.

Radiant Heart Yoga & Wellness Center in Broomall brings more than just a fitness routine with its four different kinds of yoga, reports Sheila Watko for NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Founder and owner Janira Ramirez Mello runs a yoga studio with an emphasis on whole mind and body wellness, reflected in the 13 different yoga classes available to guests.

Classes include yoga techniques of Vinyasa, Vin Yin, Yapana Restorative, Hot Stone Restorative, Kripalu Gentle, Aroma, Prenatal, Strength and Stability, Gentle, Gentle Slow Flow, Restorative, and Yin.

A Radiant Heart favorite is Hot Sone Restorative yoga, which combines restorative poses with hot stones placed on specific energy portals of the body.

Similarly, the Yapana Restorative class combines heat and gentle acupressure, giving you a sense of rest and renewal.

“When you add heat to anything, it really just lets you relax and melt and just be able to enjoy the benefits of the pose itself,” Mello said.

Radiant Heart also uses its yoga classes once a month to raise money for nonprofit organizations. This Sunday, March 16, guests can mingle with 10 cats and kittens from Stray Kitty Rescue, which will receive proceeds raised that day.
