Arkema in Radnor Signs Philadelphia Union Sponsorship Deal

An Arkema sign at Subaru Park is one of several items included in a three-year sponsorship deal between Arkema and Philadelphia Union.

Arkema, an international specialty materials company with a new American headquarters in Radnor, is sponsoring the Philadelphia Union, writes John George for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The three-year $390,000 sponsorship gives Arkema a sign above the press box at Subaru Park in Chester, along with digital displays on the field, and on a ribbon board inside the stadium.

It will be a key sponsor of the Philadelphia Union Foundation’s iAM Project, a career-readiness program for low-income high school students.

It is also sponsoring the Chester Union program, which provides children in Chester with free access to soccer. Arkema will bring kids in to show them what the company does and what a STEM career is about.

The Arkema logo will be on Chester Union player uniforms.

“We didn’t want to do just a sponsorship,” said Anthony O’Donovan CEO of Arkema Inc. and regional leader of Arkema North America. “We wanted something where we could make a difference in people’s lives, something with kids. We also wanted to have a tie to some of our products. We have that with our sports equipment.”

Its products are used in jerseys, sneakers, cleats, ski boots and golf clubs.
