Upper Darby native and longtime SportsRadio 94 WIP host Rob Ellis will replace the recently retired Glen Macnow on Saturdays, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.
He will join co-host and Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Mike Sielski.
Macnow’s replacement for Sundays has not yet been announced.
Ellis hosted “Ellis in the Evenings” at WIP from 2010 to 2013. He then spent a year on the station’s afternoon drive program working with Anthony Gargano.
He left WIP in 2015 and became an on-air personality at NBC Sports Philadelphia, one of four co-hosts for the “Breakfast on Broad” morning show.
Since 2018, Ellis has been working part-time at WIP and is also an adjunct professor at Temple University.
Macnow has said his retirement plans include more family time and continuing his pursuit of acting with the Players Club of Swarthmore.
Macnow has also become a minority investor in the Conshohocken Brewing Co., which ties in nicely with his “What’s Brewing” weekly television show on NBC Sports Philadelphia.
He also plans to write a book about his family’s history coming to the United States.
