Longtime 94.1 WIP host Glen Macnow (left), seen here with his former cohost, Ray Didinger, is retiring.

WIP host Glen Macnow of Havertown is retiring after 31 years at the station, writes Rob Tornoe for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

It’s time,” Macnow said.

He spent 11 of those years as a sports talker on weekends, first with Ray Didinger, who retired in May 2022, then with Inquirer columnist Mike Sielski and Jody McDonald.

During his entire time at the station, Macnow hosted nights, middays and had four-years in the afternoons alongside PHLY and former 97.5 the Fanatic host Anthony Gargano.

Macnow also served as the station’s Eagles pregame host for 17 seasons.

Glen Macnow was a voice of calm in an industry that often saw outlandish behavior and hot takes. His last show will be July 13.

“I’ve been working as a newspaper or radio guy since I was 21 years old,” Macnow told The Inquirer. “I’m now in my late 60s, and it’s just time.”

Macnow was a reporter for The Inquirer who joined WIP sports talk format in its early days. He helped WIP become one of the largest sports brands in the country, according to WIP station manager Rod Lakin.
