3 Delaware County Towns Make the Grade as Best on East Coast
Hundreds of beautiful communities on the East Coast cater to wide tastes, from an energetic urban landscape to the sedate natural surroundings of rural life.
Stacker has compiled a list of the 100 best places to live on the East Coast and three Delaware County communities made the grade, writes Elisa Fernandez-Arias for Stacker.
Coming in at No. 96 is Radnor Township. With a population of 31,833, Radnor offers the benefits of suburban and city living, enjoying parks, coffee shops, and a vibrant restaurant scene.
Nether Providence Township, about halfway down the list, came in at 48. The small community of 13,744 has a highly-rated public school district, many parks and is recognized as a great place to raise a family. Nature lovers will appreciate the 30-acre Taylor Arboretum at Widener University.
Swarthmore Borough made it into the single digits as the 9th best place to live on the East Coast. The college town of 6,339 has plenty of restaurants and coffee shops for residents and students at Swarthmore College. Crime rates are much lower than the national median. The population is highly educated. Nearly half have a master’s degree or higher.
