Rosemary Opening Brings City Refined Dining to Ridley Park
“A little bit elevated, refined, but in no way pretentious”.
That’s how owner Philip Breen describes his new restaurant Rosemary, which has opened in Ridley Park.
Rosemary Executive chef Elijah Milligan calls it “fine-ish” dining.
Chef Milligan offers entrees from oysters and scallops to house-made pasta, grilled octopus, and a signature burger. Fresh herbs come from Milligan’s garden.
The tuna tartar on Rosemary’s menu is popular, and the grilled octopus is cooked for five hours.
Breen and Executive Chef Elijah Milligan are restaurant veterans, having worked at restaurants on the East Coast and West Coast, including with some large Center City restaurant groups.
Breen wanted to bring something different to his hometown after the pandemic returned him to his Ridley and family roots.
“The pandemic provided me with a reset, understanding what was the most important things,” he said.
The family-owned restaurant is named after Breen’s grandmother, Rosemary, and after the herb of the same name that is featured in the décor and its fresh dishes.
You can also find Rosemary in some of its drinks from a bar that also offers the classics.
Breen hopes people will discover it as a new place to enjoy time with family and friends.
