Today is National Spaghetti Day! Gear up for the year with a plate of pasta from your favorite Delco Italian takeout and give homage to the much-celebrated spaghetti and meatballs.

Wikipedia says the origins of spaghetti are disputed—was it Marco Polo bringing back this culinary invention from the East, or an Arab trade-route delicacy, or a home-grown Sicilian treat dating back to the 12th Century? Time to do more ‘sketti research!

Many places have various ways of serving and dressing it up. Spaghetti is a glorious canvas to all sauces, meats, and vegs.  In Delaware County, these places know that a good sauce and toppings are what makes the dish, right down to the last noodle.
