Philip Breen and Executive Chef Elijah Milligan are no strangers to the Philadelphia food scene and now the two have teamed up to open a new restaurant in Ridley Park, reports MyChesco.

Rosemary, an airy, 114-seat restaurant will open in mid-June at 25 E. Hinckley Ave.

Known for his management of high-profile Philadelphia restaurants like The Dandelion and Dock Street Brewery, Breen has decided to bring a bit of home to Ridley’s restaurant scene.

“Rosemary is a family-owned restaurant that is inspired by my amazing grandmother, Rosemarie, who is a wonderful Italian home cook and the matriarch of my expansive, very close family,” said Breen.

He bought the Burgundy Lounge in September 2022 and turned the 2,500-square-foot neighborhood pool hall and bar into Ridley Park’s newest restaurant.

The finished product is a restaurant with a 16-seat alfresco front; a 62-seat main dining room; a 12-seat bar, and a 24-seat indoor-outdoor Greenhouse filled with flowers, greenery, and hanging plants decorated by Breen’s mother.

Locally-sourced modern American cuisine with global influences will be on the menu.

“Our dishes will be approachable and familiar but with a modern twist,” said Executive Chef Elijah Milligan. “We don’t ever want to be pigeon-holed, so the menu will constantly evolve.”
