Delaware County’s smaller businesses were well-represented on a list showing the best places to work in the region for companies with 10 to 24 employees.

Six companies in Delaware County made it to a list of 30 top places in 2023 compiled by Philadelphia Business Journal/Quantum Workplace.

Making the list were:

• Balanced Bridge Funding in Wayne, a business finance company
• Birch Benefits in Wayne, a full-service employee benefits firm
• Double Wood Supplements in Sharon Hill, a health supplement company
• Flashlight Marketing in Drexel Hill, a marketing firm
• LoanStar Technologies in Swarthmore, a lender loan consulting firm
• S1 Medical in Chadds Ford, a medical cost management firm

Worker satisfaction has been rising in the past decade as companies enhance work spaces, and overhaul benefits and perks to attract talent.

A Job Satisfaction report from the Conference Board indicates 62.3 percent of American workers were satisfied with their jobs last year, up significantly from the 46.2 percent that reported job satisfaction in 2011.

Companies on the list were chosen based on employee feedback through an online survey.

The survey measured company culture and considered compensation, benefits, and trust in senior leadership.

The results were then broken down by company size.
