9 of the Largest Family-Owned Regional Businesses are in Delco

Many of the Philadelphia region’s family-owned businesses expanded last year — whether by revenue or employee count, according to a list of 75 of the largest family-owned business in the region, writes Todd Romero for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Nine of those were in Delaware County.  

Nolan Painting Inc. in Havertown, founded in 1979, ranked 23rd in size on the list with 132 employees and three local offices.

A&E Construction Co. in Upper Darby was 29th, with 100 employees, and two local offices.

CSS Technical Services in Media tied at 29th, with 100 employees, and four local offices.

Arora Engineers LLC in Chadds Ford, was 31st, with 89 employees and three local offices.

Target Building Construction Inc. in Crum Lynne ranked 33rd. It has 83 employees and two offices.

Today Media in Newtown Square was 40th with 60 employees and two offices. It’s been around since 1945.

Re/Max Classic in Wayne ranked 62nd with 15 employees and one office.

 Lou’s Jewelry & Pawn in Upper Darby ranked 65th. It has 12 employees in one location and has been around since 1921.

Finally, Health and Science Center Inc. in Chester Heights made 75th with four employees and one office.
