Interboro's Dom D'Agostino nears a takedown against Daniel Boone's Tucker Hogan.

Dom D’Agostino of the Interboro High School Bucs has a lot to be proud of after taking a silver medal in wrestling at the recent PIAA Class 3A state tournament, writes Bob Grotz for PA Prep Live.

No Interboro Bucs wrestler ever got better than sixth at the tournament.

Even D’Agostino’s loss, 24-8, to Rocco Welsh in the championship round, one victory away from the state title, couldn’t diminish the accomplishment.

“There’s a legacy that’s going to stay there,” Bucs coach Dan Tobin said. “Everybody is going to try to reach up to that level. He set a standard. I’m going to miss him a lot. The good thing is he’s going to be at Drexel. He’s going to be in town. We get to see him.”

The Interboro grad is also is the only Bucs wrestler to medal twice at states. He secured sixth in 2021.

He plans to keep tabs on his teammates at Drexel.

“Drexel is 20 minutes from my house. I’m going to make sure those dudes are getting in shape and ready to go. I need them to win a gold. Someone’s got to win a gold.”
