At the new Towne House in Media you can have, not one, but five dining experiences, writes Ed Williams for mainlinetoday.com.

D’Ignazio’s Towne House was an icon in Media for 65 years until it closed in 2015.

The restaurant space was bought and reconfigured for five themed dining styles.

“The whole place took two years,” says Brian McLaughlin of Letterkenny Hospitality Group. “It would’ve been done much quicker, but we had contractor issues, design changes and, of course, COVID.”

Here’s the five dining themes.

The Shebeen

A traditional Irish Pub with 330 bourbons and whiskey at a 15-seat bar. The dining room has an original tiled fireplace and draped booths. An outdoor lounge is on the second floor.

The Colony Club

A speakeasy-inspired space open Friday and Saturday only with grid-style mahogany shelving, sparkling chandeliers, wall murals and vibrantly colored seating.

Idlewild

An open air contemporary restaurant with lush greenery and a 25-seat bar.

Towne Hall

A multipurpose event space with a stage, natural light and comfortable seating.

Towne House

This rustic room is set to open before year’s end. It offers premium steak, seafood and fine wines, with an open cast-iron fireplace.
