#1 New Tenant to Move into Space of Popular Towne House Restaurant in Media

By

The space that was previously the popular Towne House restaurant in Media is getting a new tenant who plans to stick around for a while, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

An undisclosed restaurateur who operates several locations in New York and Philadelphia has signed a 20-year lease for the property at 117 Veterans Square.

The Towne House closed its doors three years ago after more than six decades, and has been sitting empty ever since. The vacant building, owned by Eli Kahn of E. Kahn Development, is close to State Street in an area dotted with restaurants.

The new space will be divided into five different sections. They will include a pub/tavern in the former Tiffany Room, a formal dining area, and a space for catering and events. A sizable section will also be removed in the middle of the building to create an outdoor patio and beer garden.
