Delco Group Surprises College Student Who Survived Fatal Crash With Family Trip

By

The DiChiacchio family of Newtown Square are getting an all-expenses paid vacation to Boston courtesy of the Delco Group, after the family had to cope with a house fire and a fatal car crash, reports 6abc.com.

Brandon DiChiacchio, who graduated Springfield High School, lost his best friend, Sean Hanczaryk.

Both were sports and exercise physiology majors and baseball players at DeSales University.

Hanczaryk, Nicholas White and Emily Kattner were killed in a March 6 car crash.

Brandon was seriously injured.

He had surgery, followed by therapy as he learned to walk using a prosthetic leg.

A month after the crash, the DiChiacchio’s house was damaged in a fire.

Coworkers of Brandon’s mom, Eileen, contacted the Delco Group, which helps members of the community in a time of need.

The group revealed the family trip last Tuesday. Boston was the destination because Brandon is a big Red Sox fan. So was Sean.

“We can’t begin to fathom the year that you had,” read a young Delco Group volunteer at the reveal.  “We knew we wanted to do something special for you and your family.”

Brandon’s parents were brought to tears, overwhelmed by the generosity.
