Wayne Train Station in Radnor Now Has a Coffee Cafe, Thanks to 3 Local Veterans

By

Three veterans who served multiple tours in Iraq are now business partners, running a coffee café out of the historic Wayne train station in Radnor, reports Jessica Kartalija for Philadelphia.cbslocal.com.

The Mad Anthony Wayne Café has been open nearly a month.

Sgt. First Class Melinda DiStefano had the idea to create a café at the late 1800s station.

“I work for the New Jersey National Guard, I’m a mom of two, one on the way,” she said. “We just opened up this business. I mean, if there could be any more piled up on my plate, I would probably lose my mind.”

DiStefano, her husband, Anthony, and Joe Lewis are business partners in the venture.

“We met in the field racking out in sleeping bags and we’ve been friends ever since,” Lewis said.

The three share a long history.

And with their military background, it seemed appropriate to name the cafe after the general who is also the town’s namesake.

“I think it’s incredibly special to have something like this on the Main Line where you can go and meet local veterans and support small business. I don’t think there’s a better spot,” one customer said.
