Wayne has earned its reputation as the heart of the Main Line as it continues to add restaurants and businesses to its walkable downtown, writes Jessica kartaliia for CBS 3.

“Wayne over the past 20 years has grown tremendously,” Chris Todd said.

Todd owns Christopher’s Restaurant located along Restaurant Row in Downtown Wayne.

You’ll find American comfort food and everything else, from Spanish to Chinese or Italian.

Todd believes the variety of restaurants and businesses explains Wayne’s success.

A train station a half a block away gives access from the city.

The Anthony Wayne is the community’s 1928 movie house and it looks almost the same as it did when it first opened.

The Wayne Hotel, on the National Register of Historical Places, was built in 1906. It has gone through many incarnations but exists on the Main Line today as a boutique hotel.

“Any of our guests that are staying here never feel like they’re isolated to just the location and the site of the hotel, that there’s plenty that they can explore safely and enjoyably outside of the hotel in town,” General Manager David Brennan said.
