COVID-19 Cases Stay Barely Under 100, at 98, for May 6 in Delaware County

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported for Thursday, May 6, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,398 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 830 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

There were 98 new cases reported Thursday, May 6.  Total cases are 47,279.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 737, affecting 11.35 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,008 cases reported, or 8.45 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 236,928 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 88.91 percent recovery rate.

  • 30 to 39: 6,983 cases
