With the heightened focus on racial equality and research that indicates low-income students will fall behind if classes are held remotely, WalletHub has released the Most and Least Equitable School Districts in Pennsylvania report that shows Delaware County is home to five of the twenty least equitable school districts in the state.

To determine which school districts distribute their funding most fairly, WalletHub used two metrics: average household income and expenditures for public elementary and secondary schools per pupil.

Radnor Township School District ranked lowest in Delaware County at No. 496, making it the fourth least equitable school district in Pennsylvania. It has $114,063 median household income and spends $21,626 per pupil on public elementary and secondary schools.

Garnet Valley School District is 10th least equitable at No. 490, followed by the 30th least equitable Wallingford-Swarthmore School District at No. 487.

Rose Tree Media School District in No. 481 and Marple Newtown School District at No. 480 round out the list as 19th and 20th least equitable school districts respectively.

WalletHub also published the States with the Most and Least Equitable School Districts list. Pennsylvania landed at No. 26.
