Cases of COVID-19 Dropped in Delaware County, Only 68 for May 18

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported for Tuesday, May 18, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,427 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 835 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

The Chester County Department of Health site reported 64 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Tuesday, May 18. Total cases are 48,081.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 731, affecting 11.26 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,144 cases reported, or 8.61 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 242,461 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 92.18 percent recovery rate.
