Tuesday Adds 322 New Positive COVID-19 Cases in Delaware County

COVID-19 cases in Delaware County continued to remain high for Tuesday, April 13. One COVID-19-related death was reported from Upper Darby, according to the Chester County Health Department.

As of Tuesday, the health department was reporting a total of 1,357 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 825 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department also reported there have been 322 new positive COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday, April 13. Total cases, as of April 13, are 44,093.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 703, affecting 10.82 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 6,522 cases reported, or 7.86 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 935 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 225,223 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 88.46 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Tuesday, April 13, are:

  • Under 10: 1,983 cases
  • 10 to 19: 5,002 cases
  • 20 to 29: 7,414 cases
  • 30 to 39: 6,454 cases
  • 40 to 49: 5,989 cases
  • 50 to 59: 6,772 cases
  • 60 to 69: 5,249 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,630 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,595 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, April 13, there were 6,638 new COVID-19 cases statewide reported for Tuesday, April 13. Total cases now number1,082,062.

The state is reporting 66 additional COVID-19 deaths for April 13. The statewide death toll is.25,472.
