New COVID-19 Cases Tick Up Above 100 Again Thursday in Delaware County but No New Deaths Reported

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Delaware County for Thursday, Feb. 25.

The Chester County Health Department is reporting a total of 1,270 deaths for the county.

Of those, 799 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

The following is a breakdown of COVID-19 fatalities by municipality as reported Feb. 25:

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

There were 134 new COVID-19 cases reported Thursday, Feb. 25, in Delaware County. Total cases now stand at 37,602.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,074, or 9.34 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,640 cases reported, or 6.8 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 813 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 203,864 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 89.85 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Wednesday, Feb. 24, are:

  • Under 10: 1,481 cases
  • 10 to 19: 3,872 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,325 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,514 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 5,116 cases
  • 50 to 59: 5,858 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,613 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,384 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,436 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 25 that there were 2,356 new COVID-19 cases statewide. Total cases are now at 992,990.

 There were 81 additional COVID-19 deaths reported for a new total of 23,868.
