Delco Gives Returns May 8–9 with Over 300 Nonprofits Participating

The Foundation for Delaware County is organizing and promoting Delaware County's second annual Delco Gives Day May 8-9, celebrating the county's community spirit and generosity.

The second-annual Delco Gives will take place from May 8–9, 2025. Hosted by The Foundation for Delaware County, Delco Gives is more than a fundraising event—it’s a celebration of community generosity and resilience.

Last year, more than 9,600 donors raised over $1.7 million for 281 local nonprofits. The median donation was just $30, underscoring the power of collective giving. This year, with more than 300 organizations participating, the potential for impact is even greater.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for folks to turn their attention from anxiety about the bigger issues that dominate the news to support local nonprofits that desperately need funding and more visibility, especially in these uncertain times,” said Frances M. Sheehan, president of The Foundation for Delaware County.

“Nonprofit organizations that provide essential services to our communities are more in demand than ever,” Sheehan added. “These are the nonprofits that keep families housed, provide access to healthcare, support mental health, feed children, foster the arts, and protect animals. With fewer hospital emergency rooms in Delaware County, residents are left with fewer options. Fire and EMS are stepping up to help get patients where they need to be. There are several fire companies and healthcare nonprofits signed up. The community’s support of Delco Gives sends a clear message: Delaware County takes care of its own.”

What Is Delco Gives?
Delco Gives is an online giving event encouraging the community to explore and support a wide range of local nonprofits. Participating organizations serve causes, including the arts, education, food, healthcare, housing, the environment, veterans, seniors, and animal welfare.

In 2024, the median donation was only $30, proving that every gift matters. All proceeds go directly to participating nonprofits. Contributions are further amplified with bonus funding from The Foundation and generous sponsors, based on the number of donors—not donation size. Additional cash prizes, sponsored by local businesses, will be awarded throughout the two-day event.

Several Local Businesses Sign On for Delco Gives
