Jimmy Fallon surprises Tina Fey on his show with pizza from Pica's in Fey's native Upper Darby.

Upper Darby’s Pica’s Restaurant is celebrating six decades of making delicious pizzas enjoyed by both young and old in Delaware County, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine.

The restaurant was made famous when Tina Fey proclaimed her love for the eatery’s pizza on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2014. The two Saturday Night Live alums even enjoyed a slice flown to the set by the host.

While the restaurant’s location in Upper Darby recently celebrated its 60th anniversary, the establishment actually has even older roots in the area. Frank Pica Sr. opened Frank’s Pizza at 62nd and Race streets in West Philadelphia 75 years ago, when the current owner, Frank Jr., was only six months old.

While Fey made the restaurant’s pizza famous, the eatery also offers a number of other winners like homemade pastas, meatballs, veal parm, and its signature escarole soup.

Moreover, the restaurant has no plans of slowing down. Pica’s will be opening another almost identical location on West Chester Pike in West Chester this fall.
