Total Cases of COVID-19 Have Increased by 271 Since Saturday in Delaware County, With a Total of 16,611

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Delaware County have increased by 271 since Saturday, according to state and Chester County Health Department statistics.

There are now a total of 16,611 COVID-19 cases reported in Delaware County, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health was reporting 16,340 cases on Saturday, Nov. 15.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths have been reported since Friday. County deaths remain at 831.

Of those deaths, 631 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 664, or 5.79 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,557 cases reported, or 3.08 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 370 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 145,667 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 71.93 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Monday, Nov. 16 are:

  • Under 10: 415 cases
  • 10 to 19: 1,488 cases
  • 20 to 29: 3,043 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,386 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,239 cases
  • 50 to 59: 2,596 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,948 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,079 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,397

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 16, that there were 4,476 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 269,613.

There were 13 new deaths reported statewide for
Monday, Nov. 16, with total deaths listed at 9,325.
