Here are the Unofficial Election Results in Delaware County’s General Election

The following is a quick rundown of the unofficial election results in Delaware County:

Judge of the Superior Court (Vote for Not More Than Two): Delaware County voters came out in force on Election Day, with an estimated 40 percent turnout, unprecedented for a local election.

Numbers indicate that the Democratic majority of registered voters was able to influence the outcome in most races in favor of the Democrats.

For Judge of Superior Court, Democrats Amanda Green-Hawkins and Daniel D. McCaffery beat out Republicans Megan McCarthy King and Christylee Peck.

  • Amanda GREEN-HAWKINS (Democrat): 84,962 votes
  • Daniel D. MCCAFFERY (Democrat): 86,706 votes
  • Megan MCCARTHY KING (Republican): 70,895 votes
  • Christylee PECK (Republican): 68,520 votes

Note: Unofficially Democrat Daniel D. MCCAFFERY (1,240,847 statewide votes) and Republican Megan MCCARTHY KING (1,235,687 statewide votes) won the two open Superior Court judicial seats.

Judge of the Court of Common Pleas (Vote for Not More Than Four): Four Democratic candidates also led in the race for Common Pleas judge, with Nusrat Rashid, Stephanie Klein, Kelly Eckel and Rick Lowe receiving the most votes.

  • Nusrat RASHID (Democrat): 82,990 votes
  • Stephanie KLEIN (Democrat): 85,995 votes
  • Kelly ECKEL (Democrat): 80,040 votes
  • Rick LOWE (Democrat): 78,006 votes
  • Steven K. GERBER (Republican): 69,031 votes
  • George B. DAWSON (Republican): 69,517 votes
  • Wendy B. ROBERTS (Republican): 68,778 votes
  • Beth NAUGHTON BECK (Republican): 68,400 votes

County Council (Vote for Not More Than Three): It was an historic sweep by the Democrats in the county council race. Democrats won all three contested seats. With two Democrats already on council that means Delaware County’s formerly Republican-controlled county council is now fully 5-0 Democrat.  Monica Taylor led with the most votes, followed closely by Elaine Paul Schaeffer and Christine Reuther.

  • Monica TAYLOR (Democrat): 86,725 votes
  • Elaine Paul SCHAEFER (Democrat): 85,362 votes
  • Christine REUTHER (Democrat): 84,655 votes
  • Mike MORGAN (Republican): 70,290 votes
  • Kelly D. COLVIN (Republican): 70,196 votes
  • James H. RAITH (Republican): 69,155 votes

District Attorney (Vote for One): A very close race for district attorney had Republican Kat Copeland initially ahead but later returns gave Jack Stollsteimer the momentum he needed to win the office.

  • Jack STOLLSTEIMER (Democrat): 82,338 votes
  • Kat COPELAND (Republican): 77,632 votes

Magisterial District Judge 32-1-21 (Vote for One): Dawn Vann took the win, cross-filing on both the Democratic and Republican ticket. Independent Deric Smith placed second.

  • Dawn L. VANN (Democrat): 968 votes
  • Dawn L. VANN (Republican): 121 votes

Magisterial District Judge Deric R. SMITH: 42 votes

Magisterial District Judge 32-1-23  (Vote for One): Democrats continued to hold sway with Lee Grimes winning over Republican Gregory J. Loftus.

  • Lee GRIMES (Democrat): 1,146 votes
  • Gregory J. LOFTUS (Republican): 1,067 votes

Magisterial District Judge 32-1-28  (Vote for One): Deborah Krull cross-filed as the only candidate and was guaranteed a win for district judge.

  • Deborah KRULL (Democrat): 6,343 votes
  • Deborah KRULL (Republican): 2,118 votes

Magisterial District Judge 32-1-37  (Vote for One): Democrat Tammi Forbes also had a guaranteed win as there was no Republican running against her.

  • Tammi FORBES (Democrat): 2,576 votes
  • NO CANDIDATE (Republican):

Magisterial District Judge 32-1-39 (Vote for One): George Stone cross-filed and was assured a win for district justice as the only candidate.

  • Georgia L. STONE (Democrat): 2,441 votes
  • Georgia L. STONE (Republican): 2,158

Magisterial District Judge 32-1-48 (Vote for One): Republican Walter Strohl won this race for district justice, in defiance of a Democratic trend at the polls. He defeated Democrat Donna Cantor..

  • Donna M. CANTOR (Democrat): 3,415 votes
  • Walter A. STROHL (Republican): 4,306 votes

Magisterial District Judge 32-1-52 (Vote for One): Republican Kelly Micozzie-Aguirre also bucked the trend this Election Day, beating Democrat Beth Salkind.

  • Beth M. SALKIND (Democrat): 2,616 votes
  • Kelly A. MICOZZIE-AGUIRRE (Republican): 3,717 votes
