State Statistics Show Delaware County Still Has Elevated Levels of New COVID-19 Cases, 150 for Tuesday

Note: The Chester County Health Department was closed today for the General Election.  New COVID-19 case numbers below are from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Delaware County continued to report a higher than usual number of COVID-19 cases for Tuesday.

There were 150 new cases of COVID-19 reported Nov. 3 as of 1 p.m., according to the Pennsylvania Health Department. Total cases are now 14,219.

Updated fatality counts for the county were not available. The Chester County Health Department reported the death toll from COVID-19 at 815 as of Monday, Nov. 2.

Of those deaths, 621 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Pennsylvania statistics

Statewide, there were 2,875 new positive cases of COVID-19 as of noon, Nov. 3.  Pennsylvania is now listing a total of 214,871 cases.

There were 62 new deaths reported statewide as of noon, Nov. 3, with total deaths listed at 8,855, according to the  Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Statewide, 2,354,346 people have tested negative for the virus.
