New COVID-19 Cases Remain High in Delaware County, With 120 New Cases Reported Thursday

New cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County crept up further Thursday, with 120 cases reported.

Total for the county is now 14,440, according to the Chester County Health Department.

One resident from Middletownlost their life to COVID-19, with the county’s death toll now at 820.

Of those deaths, 625 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 603, or 5.26 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, with 2,205 cases reported, or 2.66 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 338 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 136, 688 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 77.5 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 1,213 cases (up 14)
  • 20 to 29: 2,655 cases (up 30)
  • 30 to 39: 2,048 cases (up 18)

  • 60 to 69: 1,711 cases (up 10)
  • 70 to 79: 996 cases (up 8)
  • 80 and over: 1,356 cases (up 2)
