Delaware County’s New Normal Seems to Be 100 or More COVID-19 Cases a Day

New cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County are still coming in at 100 or more a day, with 101 new cases reported Wednesday.

Total for the county is now 14,320, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Four residents (one from Yeadon, 2 from Chester, and 1 from Aston) have lost their lives to COVID-19 since the weekend, with the county’s death toll now at 819.

Of those deaths, 624 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 599, or 5.22 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, with 2,182 cases reported, or 2.63 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 338 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 133, 625 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 77.77 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 1,199 cases (up 17)
  • 20 to 29: 2,625 cases (up 25)
  • 30 to 39: 2,028 cases (up 48)
  • 40 to 49: 1,932 cases (up 36)
  • 50 to 59: 2,185cases (up 44)
  • 60 to 69: 1,701 cases (up 28)
  • 70 to 79: 988 cases (up 8)
  • 80 and over: 1,354 cases (up 10)

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 4, that there were 2,795 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 217,666.

There were 35 new deaths reported statewide for
Wednesday, Nov. 4, with total deaths listed at 8,890.
