Delaware County Approaches 16,000 COVID-19 Cases With 15,966 Reported Friday

As of Nov. 13, the Chester County Health Department was reporting 15,966 positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County.

On Nov. 12, there were 15,746 positive cases reported.

One resident from Aston lost their life to complications of COVID-19, bringing the county death toll to 831, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Of those deaths, 631 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 647, or 5.64 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,454 cases reported, or 2.96 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 360 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 143,465 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 73.57 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Friday, Nov. 13 are:

  • Under 10: 379 cases
  • 10 to 19: 1,418 cases
  • 20 to 29: 2,926 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,275 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,154 cases
  • 50 to 59: 2,484 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,875 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,069 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,384

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 13, that there were 5,531 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 254,387.

There were 30 new deaths reported statewide for
Friday, Nov. 13, with total deaths listed at 9,224.
