These Delco Towns Have the Most Expensive Homes in Our Region

Delaware County is home to three towns that are among the places with the most expensive homes in Philadelphia metro area, according to a new ranking by Stacker.

To compile the list, Stacker used the data from Zillow. Places are ranked based on the Zillow Home Values Index for all homes as of June 2021.

Radnor Township ranked sixth in the metro area with a median home value of $672,209. The number represents a one-year value increase of 1.9 percent and a five-year increase of a sizable 15.8 percent.

This is more than twice as high as the United States median value of a home that stands at $281,370.

Cheyney is next in seventh place with a median home value of $663,697. The town has seen home prices increase by 15.3 percent in just one year and a staggering 33.3 percent over a five-year period.

Meanwhile, Marple Township also broke the top ten in eighth place with a median home value of $653,751, a 24.8 percent increase over one year, and a whopping 48.9 percent increase over five years.

Nationally, the median value of a home is $281,370, an 11.6% increase over the last year.
