32 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County Tuesday, for a Total of 11,803

There were 32 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, Oct. 6 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Sunday. Total number of cases is now 11,803, according to the Chester County Health Department.

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Delaware County. The total stands at 797.

Of those, 615 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 546 cases, affecting 4.76 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,816, affecting 2.19 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 111, 995 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 84.63 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 942 cases (up 1)
  • 20 to 29: 2,135 cases (up 6)
  • 30 to 39: 1,613 cases (up 3)
  • 40 to 49: 1,524 cases (up 4)
  • 50 to 59: 1,784 cases (up 1)
  • 60 to 69: 1,429 cases (up 6)
  • 70 to 79: 865 cases (up 4)
  • 80 and over: 1,301 cases (up 4)

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Oct. 6, that there were 1,036 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Monday, bringing the statewide total to 165,243.

There were 17 new deaths reported statewide as of
Tuesday, Oct. 6 since these statistics were last reported Monday, with total deaths listed at 8,244.
