123 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County for Monday, and 1 New Death

There were 123 new cases of COVID-19 reported Monday, Oct. 12 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Sunday. Total number of cases is now 12,185, according to the Chester County Health Department.

One resident in Haverford lost their life due to complications of COVID-19, with total deaths in the county now at 800.

Of those, 616 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 549 cases, affecting 4.79 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,858, affecting 2.24 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 302 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 117, 296 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.9 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 975 cases (up 16)
  • 20 to 29: 2,254 cases (up 64)
  • 30 to 39: 1,661 cases (up 24)
  • 40 to 49: 1,575 cases (up 30)
  • 50 to 59: 1,842 cases (up 33)
  • 60 to 69: 1,464 cases (up 15)
  • 70 to 79: 879 cases (up 6)
  • 80 and over: 1,312 cases (up 3)

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Oct. 12, that there were 1,088 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Friday, bringing the statewide total to 173,304.

There were 18 new deaths reported statewide as of
Monday, Oct. 12 since these statistics were last reported Friday, with total deaths listed at 8,368.
