There were 37 new cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday, Sept. 17 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Wednesday. Total number of cases is now 11,082, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Four new COVID-related deaths were reported in the county, with three in Haverford and one in Upper Darby. The total is now at 784.

Of those, 605 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 530 cases, affecting 4.62 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,739, affecting 2.1 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 98,582 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.38 percent recovery rate.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 17, that there were 933 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to147,923.

There were 10 new deaths reported statewide as of
Thursday, Sept. 17, with the total deaths list at 7,913.
