35 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County Wednesday, for a Total of 10,762

There were 35 new cases of COVID-19 reported Wednesday, Sept. 9 for Delaware County. Total number of cases is now 10,762 according to the Chester County Health Department.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the county for Wednesday, with the total remaining at 778.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 527 cases, affecting 4.59 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,706, affecting 2.06 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Tuesday, Sept. 8, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 292 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 93,210 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 81.64 percent recovery rate.

  • Under 10: 171 cases
  • 10 to 19: 739 cases (up 36)
  • 20 to 29: 1,857 cases (up 8)
  • 30 to 39: 1,479 cases (up 3)
  • 40 to 49: 1,405 cases (up 5)
  • 50 to 59: 1,667 cases (up 3)
  • 60 to 69: 1,340 cases (up 4)
  • 70 to 79: 822 cases (up 1)
  • 80 and over: 1,281 cases (up 2)

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 9, that there were 931new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 141,290.

There were 14 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7,805.
