Hank’s Place has been around for 70 years in the heart of the Brandywine Valley, reports Bob Kelly for “Breakfast With Bob” at fox29.com.

It’s history includes patronage from famed Chadds Ford artist Andrew Wyeth.

“Andrew used to frequent the restaurant on a very regular basis,” says Anthony, who, with his wife, is the latest owner of the restaurant, going on three years.

The restaurant at Creek Road and Rt. 1 sits across from the Brandywine River Museum which houses and displays much of the Wyeth family art work.

Some of that art has found its way to the restaurant walls. There’s a print  by Andrew’s son, along with Andrew’s  “Christina’s World” that includes a scene from a local farm he painted in the late 1940s.

With pandemic restrictions, Hank’s Place is allowed 25 percent occupancy with tables and counter space marked off.  Outside, patrons eat under large tents mingling with the garden exterior.

“It gave us an excuse to plant yet more flowers that we’re known for,” Anthony said. “My wife has got quite a green thumb.”

Food offerings include a homemade bacon and onion quiche and a Kennett Square omelet, made with roasted mushrooms with onions and Swiss, served with home fries.
