Delaware County Stabilizes as Number of COVID-19 Cases, Deaths Continues to Increase Nationwide

As Delaware County and most of its neighbors stabilize, the numbers of recorded COVID-19 cases and deaths caused by coronavirus continue to increase nationally, according to the data provided by The Washington Post.

Since the pandemic started, Delaware County has had 7,427 reported COVID-19 cases or 1,317.9 per 100,000 residents.

From that, 174 have been reported since last week. The county has registered 662 total COVID-19-related deaths, five of them since last week. The average death rate is 117.5 per 100,000 residents.

In the surrounding area, Montgomery County has reported 8,718 overall cases, 204 since last week making a total of 818 deaths, 12 since last week.

Chester County has had 3,892 reported cases, 141 of them since last week increasing the number of deaths to 332.

Meanwhile, Lancaster County has seen its reported cases grow by 169 since last week to 4,673,

Bucks County has added 166 new cases to total 5,967, while Berks County has only recorded 60 new cases for a total of 4,623.

Philadelphia County has recorded the highest increase since last week with 530 new cases and a new total of 22,392.
