Coronavirus Update: Daily Delaware County COVID-19 Cases Up 72, Now at 3,405; 145 Deaths Reported

There were two more COVID-19 deaths reported since Sunday in Delaware County, bringing the total death toll to 145, as of Monday, April 27, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Of those, 101 occurred in a nursing home or personal care facility in the county.

The following is a breakdown of COVID-19 fatalities listed by the Chester County Health Department in descending order of community:

The county’s total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases increased by 72 and now stands at 3,405.

The virus is reported in 48 of the 49 municipalities, with no cases reported in Rose Valley.

There are 183 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been listed.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 228 cases, affecting 1.99 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most reported cases, at 578, affecting .7 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, April 27, that there are 885 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 42,050.

All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.

The state is reporting 1,597 deaths in Pennsylvania.

Of those, 990 were in nursing homes and personal care facilities.

The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, has the highest number of COVID-19 positive confirmed cases in the state, at 26,652.  The northeast has the second highest number of cases, at 9,075.
