5 More Delaware County Residents Lose Their Life to COVID-19. Total Cases Now at 15,746

As of Nov. 12, the Chester County Health Department was reporting 15,746 positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County.

On Nov. 11, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 15,592 cases.

Five additional deaths were reported Nov. 12 from Haverford, Chester, Darby Borough, Bethel and Folcroft.

The county death toll is now at 830, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Of those deaths, 631 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 637, or 5.55 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,424 cases reported, or 2.92 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 358 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 142,534 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 74.01 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Thursday, Nov. 12 are:

  • Under 10: 368 cases
  • 10 to 19: 1,395 cases
  • 20 to 29: 2,891 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,243 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,119 cases
  • 50 to 59: 2,447 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,845 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,059 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,377

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 12, that there were 5,488 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 248,856.

There were 45 new deaths reported statewide for
Thursday, Nov. 12, with total deaths listed at 9,194.
