The line was hundreds of people long at the Chadds Ford Wawa Friday, writes Stephanie Farr for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Chadds Ford Wawa was the kick off point for Wawa’s Brew Tour.

People lined up around the building to get free beer samples and to buy four packs of 2SP’s Winter Reserve Stout, an oatmeal stout steeped with Wawa’s Winter Reserve coffee, and bottles of the new Reserve Reserve, a bourbon barrel-finished version of the original beer.

This is Wawa’s second collaboration with Aston’s 2SP Brewing.

The 2spbrewing website describes the Winter Reserve as “medium-bodied with notes of sweet clove, graham cracker, and dark chocolate.”

The Reserve Reserve , aged in Bourbon barrels for seven months, is described as “a big stout with notes of vanilla, chocolate and bourbon.

James Kim, 29, drove from Elkton, Md., with his cousin to be the first in line at 12:30 p.m. for the 4 p.m. release.

They brought chairs with built-in tables and cup holders, taking advantage of the frequent samples handed out to those waiting in line. Kim said he was looking forward to the 750-milliliter bottle of Reserve Reserve, with 10% ABV.
