For First Time in Weeks, New COVID-19 Cases Dip Below 100 for Thursday, Feb. 18

Only 91 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Delaware County on Thursday, Feb. 18. Total cases now stand at 36,919.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Delaware County for Thursday, Feb. 18.

The COVID-19 death toll stands at 1,250.

Of total deaths reported, 792 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,065, or 9.26 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,529 cases reported, or 6.66 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 812 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 201,345 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 88.25 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Thursday, Feb. 18, are:

  • Under 10: 1,431 cases
  • 10 to 19: 3,750 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,243 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,408 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 5,007 cases
  • 50 to 59: 5,767 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,554 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,346 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,410 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 18 that there were 3,345 new COVID-19 cases statewide. Total cases are now at 905995.

 There were 94 additional COVID-19 deaths reported for a new total of 23,413/
