Employees working at Petplan in Newtown Square do not have to worry about leaving their pets alone while they are at work, as the company’s enormous office has space dedicated to entertaining them, writes Clara Lefton for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The insurance provider for cats and dogs is owned by Chris and Natasha Ashton, recently named two of the Most Admired CEOs by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The two-floor office opened three years ago in Equus of BPG Management, and according to Natasha, this is the first time BPG had allowed pets on its office premises.

The Ashtons entered the pet insurance market after they found themselves with a $5,000 vet bill, and very little insurance availability.

The company has been growing exponentially since then, with almost 200 employees today. This prompted the move to the new building, which took an extensive, two-year search.

“We have all the open space to walk the dogs,” said Natasha. “It’s hard to find space that meets our criteria. The nice thing is that the landlords have been fabulous to work with.”
